Dear Parents,
The entire camp staff would like to wish you a fantastic 2010 and hope that you will again choose to spend it with us!
We are very excited to announce that we have listened to you and made some New Year’s resolutions!
Our first resolution concerns our older campers. We know that Discovery Creek Camps are designed for our favorite little people and when one turns 10, one often no longer want to associate themselves with little people… So we are happy to be able to offer them Discovery Adventure Camps. These camps are designed to appeal to a more mature camper who is ready for some more challenging camps. Last year, a group of campers enjoyed walking over 40 miles across the entire State of Maryland on the Appalachian Trail! These campers really developed a new appreciation for our beautiful Maryland backyard, the environment that surrounds them and their own limits. It was an extremely rewarding experience for us educators to witness the growth these campers experienced over the 2 week period this camp lasted. We hope that more campers will take up such challenge in 2010 and choose to spend their vacation experiencing a true epic adventure.

Our second resolution was motivated by you, parents. We know that life keeps us busy and as a parent myself, I understand the challenges we are confronted with in offering the best for our children. We are faced with a constant balancing act between the small things and the big picture, and making plans for our children’s free time can be a very stressful challenge. So to help alleviate some pressure, we are very excited to offer Spring Camps. Since it is the first year, we worked on giving parents a lot of incentive to sign up and help us make it successful. There is nothing worse than a camp without campers! We are offering a 10% discount on all summer camps booked prior to March 1st 2010 for each camper who attended spring camp.
When are Spring Camps being offered? Camps are being offered from Monday March 29 to Friday April 2, 2010.
What are these Spring Camps, might you ask? We are offering 2 Discovery Creek Camps: One at The Stables at Glen Echo Park for 4 to 6 year olds and one at The Historic Schoolhouse for to 7 to 10 year olds.
What will it cost? The cost is similar to last year’s summer camp prices: For the 4 to 6 year olds, we are offering a half day session from 9 am until noon for $295 with an extended care option until 3pm for an additional $145 when booked for the entire week ($60 per day when purchased on a daily basis). The 7 to 10 year old camp is $440 for the week-long session for the hours from 9am until 3pm.
What’s the perk again? All campers who attend spring camp will benefit from a 10% discount on all summer camps booked and paid for prior to March 1st.
When can I register? Registration for current Members (valid membership as of January 28) will open for a four-day early bird session from January 29 to 3pm on February 1, 2010. General registration will be opened at 3pm on Monday February 1, 2010.
Can I have a sneak Peak? Of course!
