Programs for Scouts/Youth Groups

Programs with LC-NCR encourage scouts to experience, appreciate, and become stewards of the natural environment. Operating out of multiple sites, including the historic Chesapeake Bay buyboats Half Shell and Mildred Belle we offer scouts exciting outdoor environmental programs, many of which meet badge requirements.

Programs:

Shipboard Programs (3 hours):

Sail aboard the historic Chesapeake Bay buyboats, Half Shell or Mildred Belle for a few hours while earning a badge or spend an overnight or more to earn additional badges and gain valuable teambuilding and outdoors skills. We can tailor a trip specificially based on the interests of your group. (Grades 3-12).

Program Costs: $20 per person (20 person minimum or equalivant fee)

Overnight Programs (Grades 3-12):
Overnight camping experiences for students, focusing on many different subjects. Themes include "Wilderness Survival", and "Native American Adventure" LC-NCR also works with schools to tailor overnight experiences to specific curriculum or interests, while incorporating history, science, and team-building components. We can also tailor these themes to meet particular badge requirements.

Program Costs: $100 per person, per night (15 person minimum or equivalent fee)

Site-Based Programs

Program Details:
- Program (for up to ten scouts) costs $100. Each additional scout is $10.
- 60- or 90-minute programs are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:00 pm or 4:00 - 5:30 pm.
- Programs take place from October through May.
- At least one chaperone is required for every ten scouts.
- There is no additional charge for adults.
