Programs for Scouts/Youth Groups
Programs with LC-NCR encourage scouts to experience, appreciate, and become stewards of the natural environment. Operating out of multiple sites, including the historic Chesapeake Bay buyboat Half Shell we offer scouts exciting outdoor environmental programs, many of which meet badge requirements.
Programs:
Shipboard Programs (3-5 hours)
Sail aboard the historic Chesapeake Bay buyboat, Half Shell for a few hours while earning a badge or spend an overnight or two or more to earn additional badges and gain valuable teambuilding and outdoors skills. We can tailor a trip specificially based on the interests of your group.
Overnight Programs
Overnight camping experiences for students of any age, focusing on many different subjects. Themes include "Chesapeake Bay Fisheries," "Ghosts of the Potomac," "Escape from DC: Retracing a Path of the Underground Railroad," "Wilderness Survival", and "Algonquin Tribal Adventure: A Vision Quest." LC-NCR also works with schools to tailor overnight experiences to specific curriculum or interests, while incorporating history, science, and team-building components. We can also tailor these themes to meet particular badge requirements.
